Master Your Margins: Unveiling the Recipe & BOM Management Experience

In the fast-paced world of food and beverage, culinary creativity must go hand-in-hand with financial precision. A great dish brings customers back, but a well-costed menu keeps the lights on. That is why we are thrilled to introduce our Bill of Materials (BOM) and Recipe Management feature, a powerful suite designed to eliminate financial guesswork and put you in complete control of your kitchen's profitability.

Whether you are standardizing a signature sushi platter across multiple branches or engineering a brand-new menu item, our latest update provides the clarity and flexibility you need.

1. The Foundation: Smart Ingredient Setting

Great recipes start with meticulously managed ingredients. Our new Ingredient Management hub acts as the single source of truth for your pantry.

Beyond just listing items, the system allows you to define Standard Units of Measure (UOM) and seamlessly link every ingredient directly to your procurement ecosystem. Sourcing from multiple suppliers? No problem. You can map a single ingredient to multiple supplier items, designating one as the "Primary Used Item" while keeping others as alternatives. This ensures your recipe calculations are always tied to real-world purchasing data.

2. Crafting the Perfect Formula: Recipe Setting

Building a recipe is now as intuitive as cooking it. The Create Recipe interface allows you to define exactly what goes into your dishes with precision.

You can set specific Output Quantities and UOMs (e.g., a 500g yield for a prep batch, or 1 portion for a final dish), add detailed descriptions, and even assign recipes to specific restaurant branches. As you build your recipe by adding ingredients, the system instantly begins to generate a live cost breakdown, giving you immediate visibility into the financial makeup of your dish.

3. Financial Clarity on Every Plate: Current, Min, and Max Costs

Supply chain prices fluctuate, and your recipe costs should reflect that reality. We have revolutionized how you view your margins by introducing dynamic cost tracking on the Frontline Recipes dashboard.

Current Cost: This gives you the exact cost of the recipe based on the real-time prices of your Primary linked procurement items.

Min. & Max. Costs: This is a game-changer for risk management. Because you can link multiple supplier items to a single ingredient, the system automatically calculates the absolute minimum and maximum potential cost of your recipe based on the cheapest and most expensive sourcing options available in your system. You now have a realistic "cost window" to help you price your menu items defensively against market volatility.

4. The Culinary Sandbox: Recipe Playground

Innovation shouldn't require messing with your live data. Our Recipe Playground will be your digital test kitchen.

This interactive sandbox allows you to load an existing recipe or build a new one from scratch to perform instant "what-if" analyses. Recipe Adjustment: Want to see how adding 10g more of premium seafood affects your margin? Tweak the quantities and watch the Cost Breakdown update in real-time. New Recipe Calculation: Experiment with "Override Prices" to simulate future supplier price hikes or discounts.

The Playground calculates the Total Cost, Per Unit Cost, and the Min/Max spread dynamically. Once you have engineered the perfect balance of flavor and profitability, simply click "Save" to push your new creation live.

Ready to take control of your food costs? The new BOM and Recipe Management feature is now live. Start linking your ingredients and engineer a more profitable menu.
